Welcome fellow gringos! I have lived in Mexico now for 5 years. I hope to share here with you my journey, the joys and pitfalls I have faced in moving to and living in Mexico, and to learn a great deal more by connecting others who have moved here from the US to do the same. I have learned mostly through trial and error (a lot of error), and have muddled through many of the various mundane and less mundane matters that are involved with become a permanent resident, and hopefully soon a Mexican passport holder too. I would have benefitted from having a central hub of useful information, specifically for Americans (I'm a proud gringo) and where I could post questions and learn from others. I hope this site becomes such a hub. My family are "chilangos," living in the south of Mexico City, and that's a whole big class of mess that people living in more traditional expat areas outside the D.F.

seem not to have to deal with. I welcome the chance to share some of my adventures and lessons with you, and to continue my ongoing process of adaptation and education in becoming a Gringo in Mexico. I hope you'll join us too.
As I develop this site, I hope to have your feedback and even help, in building the community I hope this becomes, and filling in new information, details, links, and services to help us all help each other over time. I look forward to the journey with you, and hope you join us and grow with us together.
